200 Words

Felicia was a resident of Marin County, CA, for 27 years, from 1995 to 2022. She originally moved from the “Gold Country” of Nevada County to Marin to attend Dominican College, completing her B.A in Psychology 1999. Felicia carried on her interest in community work—which began in high school in Nevada County—to a project in Marin, and later, worked in environmental nonprofits. After completing a Green MBA (2007) she was a sustainability consultant for two years. Eventually Felicia found her way to a path of meditation, complemented by a PhD in Mythological Studies at Pacifica Graduate Institute, which underscored and greatly expanded her life-long interest in dreams. It also enabled her to make a formal study of an observation of patterns she had recognized as shared elements across sustainability, and religious or spiritual traditions. Her dissertation was titled Sustainability and Spirituality: Common Threads and Common Threats. Incorporating systems thinking into her dissertation, Felicia recognized a profound lack of systems thinking—or even knowledge about it—in her community. Thus, she created and ran Systems Thinking Marin for five years, from 2017 – 2022, culminating in the publication of Dear Marin in May 2022.
